Jimmy’s Village School is a free English school to all children around Siem Reap, Cambodia. The school running rely on donation.
{ We know that each and one of us have an opportunity to help someone else. All we need to do is to help one person expecting nothing in return. To me that is the humanitarian.
We do not have to be rich to be a humanitarian. We don’t have to be rich to help somebody. We don’t need to be famous. We just do whatever we can to help in any way what we can.}
The children are our future!
Not only does Jimmy volunteer his time daily to prepare the classes and teach them with tons of enthusiasm, but he has to work before and after the classes as a tour guide in order to support himself and the school. With the threat of losing the land, and the number of children continuing to increase, it is impossible for those wages to suffice to keep the school afloat.
What your donation is going to
By taking the school on the outskirts of Siem Reap, it can be bigger and reach more children.
Purchasing a new plot of land
This is Jimmy's main focus right now as the land the school is currently running on is up for sale. Jimmy found a new plot of land outside of Siem Reap that is more accessible for the surrounding villages and could cater to a larger number of needier children. The owner's child is attending Jimmy's school and values his impact, and has therefore offered a significant discount, but it is still substantial.
Creating a mobile school
When the school moves to the outskirts of the city, the children living directly in Siem Reap will have a hard time accessing it. Furthermore, there are many villages that are outside of the proposed school's range. Jimmy is achingly aware of how many needy children won't have access to his school and therefore wants to create a mobile school so that he may travel to these places to teach and ensure no one gets left behind.
Jimmy hopes to purchase a truck and load it with the supplies he needs to travel and teach.
In order to be successful, children attending Jimmy's school need access to books and supplies
Supporting the School
Jimmy will continue operating for as long as he can. The land is not yet sold and children are still eagerly attending his classes. That being said, he needs supplies and, most importantly, sophisticated books that can help his students pass the various global standardized tests they need to get scholarships, which is the only way they'd be able to achieve a higher education.
